Jason's: packaging rules
Flat, pack, and case — teaching Tangerine Star how a vendor's purchase units break down into the units you sell.
Worked example (coming soon). Orders from Jason's come in cases and packs, but the shelf sells singles. This scenario shows how packaging rules capture that breakdown so cost and inventory land at the right unit every time.
The situation
A vendor sells you a case of 12; you sell one at a time. Get the packaging math wrong and your per-unit cost — and every margin built on it — is off. This scenario will walk how Tangerine Star models flat / pack / case relationships, and how a packaging rule for a vendor makes the breakdown automatic on future orders.
